This post is going out to all of my souls struggling with body issues, they may haunt you, but they don't have to define you.
Body Issues Impact Both Men And Women:
When people think of body issues they tend to think of a scenario involving a women stressing out about they way her skirt fits her waist, but often forget to think about the fact that men often feel inadequate about themselves as well. I've taken the opportunity to ask a few men I personally know how they feel about body issues, when asked if he believed that male body issues were talked about, or really ever brought up a source said, "no, you don't really hear about it, not as much as girls," another source stated " Because all of the talk is always about how a woman should be comfortable in her own skin, when they neglect a man's self confidence in his own body," when asked why he feels male body issues. It is very important to feel comfortable in your own skin no matter what gender, race, size, or geographic location, you have the right to feel amazing in your skin, and the a great way to begin, is by saying to yourself or someone close to you, "my body issues are getting the best of me", this is a great opportunity to take a step back and decide for yourself if you feel like you look healthy.
Determining Whether Or Not To Make A Change
With developing eating disorders and obesity becoming an issue in today's society it is important to make sure that you are a healthy weight for yourself. Every single person on this planet is beautiful and unique in every different way possible, so obviously not everyone is going to have the same body type as the models and actors we see on our ads, and screens and that's important to keep in mind. As long as you feel healthy and your extra, or less weight isn't causing you any medical problems, if you feel good then you look good! If your weight and body issues are really weighing on your mind, or causing physical or health problems, it may be time to speak to your doctor about a health plan involving the gain, or loss of weight; another great idea is to talk to your friends, see if any of them have gone through or are going through any of the same issues and if they would like to take a step forward too, you may be surprised at the support you have available!
Dealing With Bullies
People seem to always have an opinion on other people's lives and the way that they choose to live them, those opinions do not matter. An opinion will not change who you are, and an opinion will not make any change to the person it's coming from, the important thing to remember when dealing with unwelcome critique is that the only verdict that truly matter is the one that you give for yourself. You can be you own worst enemy, guys and girls at a young age begin comparing themselves to each other, she wants her hips, he wants his arms, she wants her hair, he wants his style. I will say it again for the people in the back, YOU ARE AN INDIVIDUAL, meaning that you will not look exactly like anyone but you, so work that factor, find what clothes you think look best on you, find a hair color and style that suits your face and coloration, find a healthy weight that makes you feel confident, or don't change at all, find what makes you feel happy and good about you and run with it!
